Als Lily Ryle kennenlernt, scheinen all ihre Träume wahr zu werden: eine neue Stadt, der erste Job und dann noch Ryle – attraktiv, wohlhabend und bis über beide Ohren in Lily verliebt. Vergessen ist Lilys schwierige Kindheit. Vergessen auch Atlas, ihre erste Liebe. Doch dann trifft Lily zufällig Atlas wieder, und auf einmal zeigt Ryle sich von einer Seite, die sie niemals von ihm erwartet hätte.

🇬🇧: From the very beginning of the book, I knew pretty well that I had to write a post about it. I have to, do you understand? But until I finally found the right words, a small eternity passed.
This book took me gently by the hand and then more or less destroyed me. My heart still hasn’t healed properly, this story is so painfully beautiful. It puts your heart back together at the end, but something stays, gets stuck in you and suddenly you carry this book around with you all the time without having it with you. I can only recommend everyone to read it. It doesn’t matter if it’s in English or German, but please give this story, give Lily a chance. And if you feel like giving up, keep fighting to the end, it’s worth it.
If there’s one thing I’m really looking forward to, it’s It starts with us. God how I long for this book! The second volume, which you don't have to read if you don't want to, will be out this month (October 18'22) and I'm really excited! Once it gets to me, I will most likely start reading this book regardless of the cost, no matter how exciting the book I'm reading at the time may be. And I know that this review is a bit different from my previous ones, but maybe it's gonna be always such a jumble of thoughts and that's okay. If I can tell you one thing about this book, it's that you have to give it a chance. Only read it if you feel able to. Colleen Hoover books are always different than expected and they go deep. This book isn't easy either, but these are such important words and I admire this woman for having the courage to carry them out into the world.

🇩🇪: Schon zu Beginn des Buches, war mir ziemlich klar, dass ich darüber einen Post schreiben muss. Ich muss, versteht ihr? Aber bis mir endlich die richtigen Worte eingefallen sind, ist eine kleine Ewigkeit vergangen.
Dieses Buch hat mich sanft an der Hand genommen und mir dann mehr oder weniger zerstört. Mein Herz ist noch immer nicht richtig geheilt, so schmerzlich schön ist diese Geschichte. Sie setzt einem das Herz am Ende wieder zusammen, aber etwas bleibt, setzt sich in einem fest und plötzlich trägt man dieses Buch ständig mit sich herum, ohne es dabei zu haben. Ich kann allen nur ans Herz legen es zu lesen. Völlig egal, ob auf Englisch oder Deutsch, aber bitte, gebt dieser Geschichte, gebt Lily eine Chance. Und wenn euch danach ist, aufzugeben, kämpft weiter bis zum Ende, es lohnt sich. Wenn ich mich auf etwas ganz besonders freue, dann ist das It starts with us. Gott wie ich dieses Buch herbeisehne! Der zweite Band, den man nicht lesen muss, wenn man es nicht möchte, erscheint noch diesen Monat (18. Oktober'22) Und ich bin fast schon richtig aufgeregt. Sobald es bei mir ankommt werde ich höchstwahrscheinlich ohne Rücksicht auf Verluste anfangen dieses Buch zu lesen, völlig egal, wie spannend das Buch, was ich zu dem Zeitpunkt lese, auch sein mag. Und ich weiß, dass diese Rezension etwas aus dem Muster meiner bisherigen fällt, aber vielleicht kommt jetzt immer so ein Gedankenwirrwar und das ist okay. 

Wenn ich euch eins zu diesem Buch sagen kann, dann, dass ihr ihm eine Chance geben müsst. Lest es nur, wenn ihr euch dazu in der Lage fühlt. Colleen Hoover Bücher sind immer ganz anderes, als man es erwartet und sie gehen tief. Auch dieses Buch ist nicht einfach, aber es sind so so wichtige Worte und ich bewundere diese Frau, dass sie den Mut hatte, sie in die Welt hinaus zu tragen. 

Fazit

🇬🇧: What can I say? It was a total highlight for me, which I still clutch to my chest when I get my hands on it. The book has a depth that I only know from Colleen Hoover and that fascinates me every time. You laugh, you cry, you want to hit something and somehow you end up sitting there wondering how nothing but words can trigger such a roller coaster of emotions in you. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a book that goes deep and can take you apart and then put back together.

🇩🇪: Was soll ich dazu schon sagen? Es war ein totales Highlight für mich, was ich noch jetzt an meine Brust drücke, wenn es mir in die Hand fällt. Das Buch hat eine Tiefgründigkeit, die ich so nur von Colleen Hoover kenne und das fasziniert mich jedes Mal aufs Neue. Man lacht, man weint, man möchte auf etwas einschlagen und irgendwie sitzt man am Ende da und fragt sich, wie nichts als Worte eine solche Achterbahn der Gefühle in einem auslösen können. Ich kann es jedem nur weiter emphelen, der ein Buch sucht, dass tief geht, einen auseinandernehmen und danach wieder zusammensetzten kann.
